What you will do here
- Manage the lending service and advise library users at two locations in German and French regarding lending and information retrieval
- Conduct library introductions and research training in German
- Index media (formally and content-wise) and manage print journals
- Contribute to the development of new offers and services of the BFH University Library and the Biel/Bienne location
- Take on tasks in the overarching services of the university library and collaborate on various projects related to the move to the Biel/Bienne campus (2028)
What you ideally bring
- Specialist in I+D or university degree in library and information sciences
- Experience in cataloging (RDA/GND) in scientific libraries, ideally in a university environment
- Good system knowledge in ALMA, swisscovery, MS Office/MS 365 as well as good expertise in database research and new information technologies
- Interest in new developments in the library sector, e.g. AI or Open Science and the potential of metadata as well as in the fields of wood and technology
- Good communication skills (German as mother tongue with very good French skills, English skills), strong customer and service orientation, high flexibility as well as independent and precise working style
