It was established in 2009 by the Government Council of the Canton of Zurich and consists of seven to nine interdisciplinary members. The commission assesses the submitted hardship applications and makes recommendations to the Migration Office of the Canton of Zurich for approval or rejection.
For the Hardship Commission, we are looking for a highly organised individual as a legal secretary from 1 September 2026 (or by arrangement).
Your tasks

You will be in regular contact with the commission and the Migration Office of the Canton of Zurich and work closely with the presidency, to which you report directly.
You will independently and responsibly manage the administrative and operational affairs of the Hardship Commission. You ensure efficient processes, prepare matters thoroughly, coordinate meetings and guarantee careful preparation and follow-up of the commission's work. You will adapt your working hours flexibly to the workload.

You work independently, in a structured and precise manner, possess very good editorial skills and command confident German. Organisational talent, prioritisation under changing workloads, discretion, resilience and diplomatic demeanour complete your profile.
