Job description
Within our residence, you support residents in their daily lives with kindness, professionalism and respect for their dignity. In close collaboration with the nursing team and under the responsibility of the nurse, you actively participate in the overall care of residents and contribute to their well-being, safety and maintenance of their autonomy.
Through your presence and skills, you play an essential role in the personalised support of each resident, taking into account their needs, lifestyle habits and care plan.
Your duties
- Perform basic care and delegated care in accordance with your scope of competence;
- Support residents in daily living activities and promote the maintenance of their autonomy;
- Observe the physical, psychological and behavioural health status of residents and relay relevant information to the nursing team;
- Participate in the development and implementation of individualised support plans;
- Support residents and their relatives with respect, empathy and professionalism, including in situations of high dependency and end of life;
- Actively collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity and quality of care;
- Contribute to a safe, warm and respectful living environment that meets residents’ needs.
Profile sought
- Diploma as Nursing Assistant and Support (ASA) AFP
- Professional experience with elderly people in nursing homes; experience in psychogeriatrics is an asset;
- Good command of basic care and delegated acts within your role;
- Knowledge of the specific needs of elderly people and ability to promote the maintenance of their autonomy;
- Ability to observe, analyse a situation and communicate reliable and relevant information;
- Proficiency in spoken and written French (minimum level B2);
- Sense of responsibility, autonomy and professional rigour;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and team spirit;
- Positive, kind and respectful attitude towards residents, relatives and colleagues.
