Medical secretary for the Genetic Medicine Service
The Genetic Medicine Service of the Lausanne University Hospital is looking for a medical secretary at an 80% activity rate to complete its team. The starting date is scheduled for August 1, 2026, or to be agreed upon.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The goal of genetic medicine is to recognize rare genetic diseases, often in children, and predisposition to common diseases in adults (diabetes, obesity, cancer, heart and lung diseases, and others), to treat them and to prevent or delay their consequences. Consultations aim to clarify the diagnosis, guide management, and provide individuals and families with personalized medical and genetic counseling.
Mission
- You participate in welcoming patients and their relatives as well as visitors in accordance with CHUV's guiding principles
- You participate in the administrative management of outpatient patients
- You participate in maintaining medical records
- You participate in managing administrative tasks related to the smooth operation of outpatient unit(s)
- You work on Wednesdays.
Profile
- You hold a Federal VET Diploma as a commercial employee (or equivalent training) ideally complemented by a medical secretary diploma
- You have at least 2 years of experience in a secretarial role
- You know how to work independently
- You have perfect command of the French language both orally and in writing (minimum C1) and knowledge of a foreign language is an asset
- You have advanced skills in common IT tools and knowledge of institutional IT tools is an asset
- You have a service-oriented mindset and are able to integrate into a multidisciplinary team
- You know how to adapt your communication to the context and demonstrate empathy, a spirit of mutual aid, and collaboration
- You are highly flexible and have a sense of organization and priorities.
