Tasks
As reinforcement for our agile, self-organised product team End User Computing, we are looking for you as an Exchange Engineer.
In your daily work, you combine operation, further development and consulting around our messaging and collaboration platforms. You take responsibility and actively shape digital collaboration at ZHAW.
Your main tasks and responsibilities include:
- Ensuring 2nd-level support as well as stable operation of Microsoft Exchange (On-Prem & Online)
- Operation, administration and support of Microsoft 365 with a focus on Exchange, Active Directory (on-prem and Entra ID), Teams, Outlook and SharePoint Online
- Consulting internal stakeholders and supporting requirement clarification
- Design and evaluation of solution scenarios as well as making architectural decisions
- Participation and professional responsibility in agile projects
- Collaboration with M365 Defender on security issues and impact analyses
- Operation and further development of SMTP relay connectors including message tracking and root cause analyses in mail flow
- Automation and maintenance of scripts (PowerShell), interfaces and operational processes as well as use of tools such as TOPdesk, Jira and Confluence
Profile
For this exciting and responsible role you need:
- Completed training in computer science (EFZ) with a university of applied sciences degree or equivalent qualification (e.g. university, ETH)
- Several years of professional experience with Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft 365
- Confident knowledge of central M365 services such as Exchange, local Active Directory, Azure Active Directory/Entra ID, Microsoft Teams/Microsoft Outlook, SharePoint Online
- Experience in technical customer consulting as well as in solution design to map business requirements
- Understanding of business processes and the ability to translate these into technical solutions
- Experience with ticketing and collaboration systems (such as TOPdesk, Jira and Confluence) is an advantage
- Communicative flair and strong customer orientation as well as enjoyment of cross-departmental collaboration
- Team player with independent and solution-oriented working style
- Ability to assess technical and architectural issues and classify them strategically
- Interest in continuous further education and active contribution to the knowledge culture in the team
- Very good German language skills in spoken and written form
- Experience in the higher education environment or in complex IT organisations is an advantage
