About the job
Rüti ZH is an attractive and dynamic residential and working community with around 13,000 inhabitants – nestled in a recreational area on the south-eastern edge of the canton of Zurich. Since 1 January 2022, the school and municipality have been organised as a unified municipality.
The primary school complex Lindenberg/Widacher consists of several building sections, two sports halls and a teaching swimming pool, whose operational maintenance is ensured by the school property department.

Caretaker with Deputy Head Caretaker Role 80 - 100 %
Your tasks:
- Responsibility for the preservation of value of the entrusted facilities and equipment
- Participation in cleaning work including deep cleaning
- Maintenance and upkeep of outdoor facilities and green areas
- Supervision of the building services infrastructure including maintenance and inspections
- Carrying out minor repairs as well as managing orders with craftsmen for larger repairs or service tasks
- Supporting the Head Caretaker in developing concepts and standards, task planning and implementation, as well as quality assurance
- Deputising for the Head Caretaker and assisting in the training and supervision of the apprentice "Specialist in Operational Maintenance EFZ"
Your profile:
- Completed vocational training in a craft-technical profession, supplemented by further training as a caretaker with a federal certificate of competence and several years of professional experience in a comparable role
- Strong understanding of the maintenance and preservation of properties and experience in the care and maintenance of school facilities, sports halls and swimming pools
- Committed, team-oriented and resilient personality who remains calm and thoughtful even in hectic situations and does not lose their sense of humour
- Good and customer-oriented interaction with various stakeholders (school management, teachers, pupils, club members, etc.)
- Enjoyment of cleaning tasks, manual, technical and organisational skills as well as an independent and efficient working style
- Good knowledge of the German language spoken and written and good IT user skills, driving licence category B
- Willingness to undertake further training in water and swimming pool technology
- Willingness for flexible work assignments (evening shifts, deputising during holiday absences or emergency deployments)
- Residence in Rüti or the surrounding area
