The town of Wangen an der Aare, with just under 3,000 inhabitants, operates a well-organised and innovative primary school together with the municipalities of Walliswil bei Niederbipp and Walliswil bei Wangen.
At three locations (Wangen an der Aare, Walliswil bei Wangen and the district of Wangenried), around 400 pupils are taught from kindergarten to lower secondary level.

Responsibilities
As one of two swimming teachers, you will teach children in years 1 to 4 in half classes (group size maximum 10-12 children) at the Wangen an der Aare outdoor pool during May/June and August/September, accompanied by the class teacher.
You will prepare the lessons together with the second swimming teacher and conduct them. You will document the children’s progress in the swimming booklet. You will prepare the pupils so that they can successfully pass the Water Safety Check by the end of year 4 at the latest.
Workload:
- May/June: approx. 7 weeks with 8 lessons per week, spread over different weekdays (mornings and afternoons) in coordination with the second swimming teacher
- August/September: approx. 4 weeks with 8 lessons spread over different weekdays (mornings and afternoons) in coordination with the second swimming teacher
The workload corresponds to a position of 2 lessons (approx. 7%) spread over the whole year.
Requirements
Certified swimming teacher for primary level or equivalent qualification.
