The Melchenbühl Social Therapy of the Terra Vecchia Foundation offers a training position for three years starting summer 2026 for a

trainee in Social Work/Social Pedagogy (60-100%)

We are the Terra Vecchia Foundation, a nationally recognised and innovative non-profit organisation. All associated operations are located in the canton of Bern and focus on inpatient social and addiction therapy, supported living, and work integration/production.

The team at Melchenbühl Social Therapy supports and cares for adults with addiction issues in Gümligen. As a trainee social worker or social pedagogue, you can expect a challenging role that requires the ability to work independently and where you will be professionally supported by a competent practical trainer.

Ideally, you already have several years of professional experience. You are interested and willing to engage with goal- and solution-oriented thinking and acting. You can organise yourself independently and reliably, and you are capable of development in administrative tasks as well as communication and writing style. Step by step, you will accompany and support clients. In doing so, you will network with relevant agencies and individuals, involve families of origin, and orient yourself to the strengths and weaknesses of the clients.

Of course, you will successfully implement the theory-practice transfer according to the objectives of your training. You will be supported, accompanied, and assessed by our practical trainer.

You will frequently be travelling by car and therefore hold a category B driving licence. You are willing to take on evening and weekend duties.
