About the job
The ZHdK is one of the largest and most diverse art universities in Europe, with around 2100 Bachelor’s and Master’s students. The study and research areas include Art Education, Design, Film, Fine Arts, Music, Dance, Theatre and Transdisciplinarity. Located in the heart of Zurich, ZHdK is a dynamic place where passionate people from over 75 countries work, study, teach, research and continue their education. The university includes numerous exhibition and performance venues where students’ project works are publicly presented.
The Interaction Design department explores interfaces and processes between people, technologies and spaces. We train designers who face the challenges of present and future realities – from climate change and social inequality to ecological justice. Our students and researchers work project-based, combining field research with iterative prototyping and aesthetic exploration, developing their own design and critical stance. With access to specialised labs such as the Physical Computing Lab and the Bio Lab, their work moves in areas including Embodied Interaction, Immersive Technologies, Biodesign, Multisensory Interaction, Responsive Environments and Critical Theory.
