Research Associates 80 - 100%The State Archive of the Canton of Zurich is the central archive of the Canton of Zurich and its historical legal predecessors, with archival holdings spanning 1150 years. It preserves original documents and makes them accessible to the public. In doing so, it makes governmental actions comprehensible and contributes to legal certainty.
For the Department of Archival Formation, we are seeking two Research Associates at 80% and 100% from 1 August 2026 or by arrangement.
Your tasks
- You are responsible for archival formation from specific administrative areas. You assess file offers and decide what is archived
- You advise and support the administration in (especially digital) information management
- You participate in various projects of the State Archive
- You are responsible as a power user for the digital business management system and for internal information and communication technologies
Your profile
- Completed studies, preferably in history or administrative sciences
- Training in archival and information science and/or professional experience in the archival field
- In-depth knowledge of digital information management and archiving as well as interest in digital topics
- Negotiation-secure and articulate, quick comprehension, resilient and results-oriented, good time management and strong assertiveness
- Broad general education, very independent working style but also enjoyment of teamwork
- Knowledge of public administrations and Zurich's regional history is an advantage
