Contributions to Care
Contribution of the health insurance (KVG) The KVG contribution of the health insurance to the care costs is set by the Federal Council. This contribution is identical nationwide for all health insurances. Since January 1, 2015, all homes in the canton of Zug settle the care contributions directly with the health insurances. Other costs (e.g. doctor visits, medications, and therapies) can be reclaimed from the health insurance. Contribution of the municipality
According to KVG, your municipality of residence covers the remaining care costs. If you have a residence outside the canton, you need a cost approval from your municipality of residence for the assumption of the remaining care costs, which may differ from the Zug municipal contributions. If the municipality does not grant cost approval, we charge you the entire care fee. Contribution of the resident
According to KVG, Art. 25a, a maximum of 20 percent of the health insurance contribution of BESA level 12 may be charged to you in each care level. This means that from BESA level 1, the resident's own contribution to the care costs amounts to 20 percent of the maximum health insurance contribution. 5
