About the job
What you will do here
- Perform food-related wet chemical and instrumental analyses for research projects, teaching, and possibly service orders
- Support teaching in laboratory operations (preparation and follow-up of laboratory exercises, assistance in practical courses, as well as supervision of students and student projects)
- Contribute to laboratory management, especially supporting basic operations and laboratory administration, as well as participating in the organization and further development of laboratory infrastructure and processes
- Support procurement and material management (chemical management, disposal, reservation systems) and ensure the functionality of analytical instruments
- Participate in occupational safety and health protection, including safety-related instructions, documentation, and the possibility to take over the BESIBE function
What you ideally bring
- Training as a chemical laboratory technician or comparable education, ideally with several years of professional experience
- Experience in laboratory operations, routine analytics, or research, ideally in the food sector
- Knowledge in instrumental and wet chemical analytics (e.g., HPLC, LECO nitrogen determination, or spectrophotometry)
- Independent, structured, and quality-conscious working style as well as motivation to develop further in a scientific environment
- Team, organizational, and communication skills as well as enjoyment in working with students
- Very good German or French skills as well as good English skills
