Design Engineer

Your role and responsibilities:

In this role, you have the opportunity to create the design of devices, systems, or installations or to modify pre-made designs for tasks by applying standard concepts. Every day, you assist in planning technical solutions, including drawings and calculations according to regulations. You also demonstrate your expertise by participating in design reviews, design verifications, and adjusting the design as needed.

The working model for this role is: hybrid.

This role contributes to the PMA business.

You will be mainly responsible for:

• Supporting the development of cable protection products and systems used in power and data applications.

• Contributing to product development projects from the concept phase to the initial article inspection.

• Supporting the testing and qualification of parts.

• Creating and maintaining design documentation and data management.

Qualifications for the role

• Completed an apprenticeship as a draftsman with a Federal VET Diploma (EFZ).

• Solid knowledge and practical experience in product design and 3D CAD (preferably PTC Creo).

• Experienced in MS Office applications, Windchill, and SAP.

• High motivation and commitment to pursue a career at ABB.

• Fluent in German and good English skills.

• You are either a Swiss citizen or have a valid residence permit for Switzerland.
