The University of Neuchâtel is advertising a position for a
CFST Safety Officer / STPS Specialist with certification as a fire protection safety officer or fire protection specialist diploma at 100%
to be filled within the Buildings, Environment and Safety Service (SBES), in the Safety and Environment Office.
Activities
As a safety officer certified in fire protection, you ensure the application of legal provisions regarding occupational safety and health (MSST directive) and oversee the operational follow-up of the university’s safety, security and fire protection policy. You guarantee compliance with MSST and fire protection (AEAI) standards and requirements for the university’s buildings and equipment, and participate in transformation projects and site monitoring by coordinating external companies and conducting post-construction inspections. You are also responsible for organising and supervising emergency evacuation drills for the university’s buildings and provide fire safety training for staff. You support the SBES manager in analysing event organisation requests from members of the university community or external parties and ensure the monitoring of recommendations issued, particularly for events gathering more than 300 people.
Desired profile
You hold a CFST safety officer or STPS specialist qualification with a federal diploma or equivalent training, which you have completed (or are willing to complete) with certification as a fire protection safety officer or a fire protection specialist diploma. You have previously completed technical training in construction or building. You are capable of working independently and rigorously within a small team. You have good interpersonal and communication skills and are proficient in French, both spoken and written, while also having a good knowledge of English. Additional certification as a safety engineer or occupational safety expert may be an advantage.
