The Paul Scherrer Institute PSI is the largest research institute for natural and engineering sciences in Switzerland. The task of the Operations Section is to operate all four accelerator facilities with the support of various specialist groups and thus provide ideal conditions for our users' experiments. For the HIPA Operations group, we are looking for a
Your tasks
Your role consists of 70% shift work operating the PSI accelerator facilities (3-shift / 7-day operation) and 30% tasks in cooperation with other specialist groups that correspond to your specific skills – from programming activities to beam dynamics calculations. As part of the shift service, you assist in the commissioning and optimisation of the accelerator facilities, diagnose and handle operational disruptions, and contribute to beam development and experiments.
Your profile
- Completed technical vocational training or technical university degree (Bachelor or Master)
- You are an open and communicative personality, enjoy working in a team, and feel comfortable in an international environment
- You find it easy to interact (in German and English) with different stakeholders
- Experience with shift work and a strong willingness to continue learning complete your profile
