Chimpy at SRF: Why we produce right in the heart of Zurich
Chimpy has been in Zurich for 12 years – and from the very beginning, we have built our creation, development, and production right in the city centre. For almost the last 8 years, our home has been Baslerstrasse in Altstetten.
On Saturday, we opened our doors there for the last time during the Day of Urban Production of the "Made in Zurich Initiative". Around 40 visitors came by to see how we prepare thousands of power banks daily for kiosks. What was especially exciting was how curious people were: How does a circular service actually work? And why do we do it right in the city?
As Edwin explains: "There are many people in Switzerland who run out of power while on the go. And we can solve this problem simply and quickly."
The location right in Zurich is crucial for this: "It means we are close to the customers. This massively simplifies logistics."
We are already looking forward to next year – then from our new home base at MACH on the Koch site.
