Job Description
The Category Leader will be responsible from in market assessment, product conceptualization and innovation and strategic planning that meet market demands/trends and align with our company's objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Market Research and Analysis:
Continuously collect market intelligence and asses within the dental industry to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
Analyze market data, customer feedback, and industry insights to identify opportunities for new dental product development.
Global Product Strategy Development:
Develop and refine product and portfolio strategies based on market trends, competitor analysis, and company objectives.
Create business cases, portfolio roadmaps, and value propositions for new dental products, ensuring alignment with market needs and company goals.
Product/Portfolio Performance Assessment:
Continuously perform product performance analysis, meticulously scrutinizing product revenue, growth metrics, and profitability. Employing robust analytical tools, you'll monitor key performance indicators, customer feedback, and market trends to assess product success and identify avenues for enhancement.
Product/Portfolio Lifecycle management:
Throughout the product lifecycle, you'll constantly analyze performance metrics, customer feedback, and market dynamics to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Plan strategic updates, enhancements, or even the phase-out of products, balancing profitability, and customer satisfaction.
Foresee potential challenges and devise risk mitigation strategies, ensuring seamless transitions between lifecycle stages.
New Product Development & Product Launch :
During the development phase, you'll guide the product design, leveraging your understanding of dental practices, materials, and manufacturing techniques.
Simultaneously, you'll coordinate with regulatory affairs to ensure that the product adheres to stringent industry standards and compliance requirements.
As products move into the market, you'll craft strategic launch plans, working closely with sales and marketing teams to ensure a smooth market entry.
Product Conceptualization and Definition:
Lead the conceptualization and definition of new dental product ideas based on market research findings and customer insights.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, engineering, and marketing to translate concepts into tangible product definitions and requirements.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work closely with R&D and engineering teams to guide initial product design and development efforts. Provide clear product vision, requirements, and priorities.
Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to define go-to-market strategies and positioning for new dental products.
Prototype Development and Validation:
Oversee the creation of prototypes and early-stage product iterations. Coordinate user testing and gather feedback for product validation and refinement.
Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure early alignment with regulatory standards and compliance requirements for new product concepts.
Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with new product development in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications
Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field. A Master's degree or MBA is preferred.
Professional Experience:
- 6+ years of product management experience in a dental market
- Proven track record in developing and launching successful products from concept to market.
- Experience in upstream product management, focusing on the early stages of the product lifecycle, including ideation, feasibility, and definition.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret market data, customer insights, and financial metrics.
- Experience with data analysis and metrics to drive decision-making and measure product success.
- Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional teams and leading product initiatives.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong decision-making abilities, with a focus on strategic thinking and problem-solving.
- Strategic thinking capabilities, with the ability to develop and execute long-term product roadmaps.
- Ability to balance short-term and long-term priorities to meet business goals.
- Deep understanding of the industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape.
- Experience with regulatory and compliance requirements relevant to the industry.
