About the job

The Department of General Internal Medicine and Specialties includes a reference centre for General Internal Medicine at HFR Fribourg – Cantonal Hospital with nearly 130 beds. It is also present at 3 other locations: at HFR Meyriez-Murten, HFR Riaz and HFR Tafers. Patient care is provided on an outpatient and inpatient basis. General Internal Medicine offers comprehensive patient care, including for complex diagnoses, notably in close collaboration with the department's specialties.


To complement their team, the Medical Directorate for General Internal Medicine at HFR Fribourg – Cantonal Hospital is seeking a

Senior Physician or Deputy Senior Physician (60–100%)

Responsibilities

• You ensure high-quality patient care in accordance with applicable professional standards.
• You supervise the activities and training of assistant physicians and medical trainees.
• You teach as part of diploma and postgraduate courses as well as medical continuing education.
• You contribute to the development of departmental and research projects.
• You participate in on-call duties.

Profile

• Federal medical diploma or equivalent qualification
• FMH specialist title in General Internal Medicine or in the process of obtaining it, or equivalent training
• Several years of experience as an assistant physician in internal medicine in a hospital
• German or French with good knowledge of the other language
• You are motivated to contribute to a good working atmosphere and appreciate exchange with your colleagues

The Department of Internal Medicine and Specialties has a reference Internal Medicine Service at the HFR Fribourg – Cantonal Hospital site with nearly 130 beds and is also active at 3 sites, namely HFR Meyriez-Murten, HFR Riaz and HFR Tafers. It admits patients on an outpatient basis and for inpatient stays. The Internal Medicine Service offers comprehensive care, including for complex diagnoses, notably in close collaboration with the Department's specialties.

Consultant or Deputy Consultant (60-100%)

Your mission:

• ensure quality patient care according to current professional standards
• supervise the activity and training of assistant doctors and medical candidates
• provide teaching for pre- and post-graduate as well as continuing medical education
• participate in the development of service and scientific projects
• participate in on-call duties

Your profile:

• federal medical diploma or equivalent
• you hold an FMH title in general internal medicine, or are in the process of obtaining it, or have equivalent training
• several years of experience as an assistant doctor in hospital internal medicine
• proficiency in French or German with good knowledge of the other language
• you are motivated to contribute to a good working atmosphere and appreciate collegial exchange
