The Diagnostic Department , composed of eight medical services, is tasked with providing diagnoses, therapeutic products, therapeutic procedures, and specialised clinical consultations of high medical quality, within the best possible timeframes and at an acceptable cost, to guide patient care and contribute to therapeutic decisions and actions.
The Radiology Service primarily performs diagnostic radiology examinations and therapeutic interventions guided by various imaging techniques. This clinical activity includes approximately 220,000 examinations and 5,000 diagnostic and therapeutic procedures per year, a significant portion of which is provided on a 24/7 basis. The medical team of the radiology service also organises more than 300 multidisciplinary meetings per month, on a daily, weekly, or monthly schedule.
The Radiology Service is seeking a future associate consultant, tenured or not, or a future non-tenured associate consultant, to head the gynaecological radiology unit.
Job Description
As an associate consultant to the head of service and unit manager, you coordinate and develop all clinical diagnostic activities in the field of gynaecological radiology. You are responsible for the strategy of radiological investigations to be conducted in close collaboration with referring physicians.
Within your clinical activities, you conduct radiological examinations and interpret them, perform minimally invasive interventional procedures, and oversee the quality control of examinations from both technical and medical perspectives. You participate in on-call and standby duties in paediatric radiology, under the supervision of dedicated paediatric radiology teams.
You actively participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching by developing clinical knowledge and supervising medical students, residents, and senior registrars. You foster radiology learning in a clinical environment and lead theoretical colloquia as well as practical seminars in your areas of specialisation. Thanks to your teaching and communication skills, you contribute to attracting academic talent in your specialty.
Part of your activities will be dedicated to research, for which you develop innovative projects. These research projects may be initiated within the framework of collaborations at the Lake Geneva region, national, or international level, with funding from private sources.
In your role, you actively participate in the administrative and managerial management of the unit. You organise various multidisciplinary meetings in the field of women’s imaging and facilitate interactions to ensure quality services and team spirit. You apply the common directives shared by all units of the radiology service within your unit, in collaboration with the head of service.
Throughout your activities, you ensure close cross-departmental collaboration, notably with the Gynaecology Service and with physicians from the units of the Radiology Service. Through regular exchanges with all teams, you ensure optimal patient care and a high level of medical quality. Furthermore, you contribute to the development of projects in the field of gynaecological radiology with the Radiology Service, other services of the Diagnostic Department, and other departments of the Geneva University Hospitals.
We offer you the opportunity to join a cutting-edge Radiology Service that manages complex clinical situations and provides quality medical services thanks to an interdisciplinary team of more than 200 health professionals (medical staff, nurses, radiology technicians, etc.). In constant contact with physicians in training, you will develop your personal knowledge and skills through teaching.
Qualifications
You hold a federal medical diploma or an equivalent qualification and have obtained a specialist title in radiology. You also hold a doctoral thesis and have published as first author.
If your diploma originates from a foreign country, you have obtained recognition from the Medical Professions Commission of the Federal Office of Public Health (MEBEKO) and your diploma is registered in the Medical Professions Register (MedReg).
Additionally, you must have obtained or will obtain a Geneva cantonal practice licence, regardless of where your diploma was obtained.
You are proficient in French (spoken and written - C1 level mandatory) and possess excellent enumeration skills. For non-French-speaking applicants, a C1 level in spoken and written French is required.
You demonstrate excellent communication skills within multidisciplinary teams and with patients, and you are a dynamic, flexible, and committed person. Moreover, you have demonstrated strong adaptability.
You show open-mindedness and leadership qualities, enabling you to supervise and mentor residents and senior registrars as well as support and motivate staff. You have demonstrated teaching skills and a strong interest in research and innovation.
Finally, you have the ambition to promote and develop a high-level clinical and academic activity in your specialty.
