Contaminated Sites Specialist
Fixed-term employment, third-party funded, within the Office for Nature and Environment | 60–80 % | Chur
As support for the Office for Nature and Environment, we are looking for a contaminated sites specialist from 1 November 2026 or by agreement. This is a fixed-term position, presumably for a duration of 9 years, funded with federal funds.
Tasks
- Supports the persons responsible for contaminated sites.
- Tasks include coordinating the various stages of the procedure for contaminated sites. This includes drafting statements, preparing remediation decisions, determining loss costs and compensation claims according to OTaRSi.
- Within the scope of their activities, they also maintain specific and direct contacts with federal, cantonal and municipal administrative services, professional associations as well as companies and private individuals.
What we expect from you
- You have a university or university of applied sciences degree in a scientific field or equivalent training and preferably several years of professional experience in the field of contaminated sites.
- You have experience with databases and geographic information systems (GIS).
- You are accustomed to contact with users and your approach to various interest groups is characterised by respect.
- You are assertive and able to maintain a calm and prudent attitude in conflict situations.
- Within a team, you stand out for your organisational and communication skills and are a person with initiative and an entrepreneurial mindset who is distinguished by your willingness to help.
- You have an excellent command of German, both spoken and written. Good knowledge of several cantonal languages is an advantage.
