As the staff unit of the Head of Department, we manage political affairs and relieve the offices through professional cross-sectional services. For this dynamic interface between politics, administration, and the public, we are looking for a communication-strong leadership personality.

Head of Department Communication (m/f/d)
Workload: 80-100%
Workplace: St. Gallen
What to expect
- Strategic and operational management as well as further development of the communication department of the Department of Construction and Environment with two employees
- Communicative advice to the Head of Department and the General Secretary on political and media matters
- Responsibility for active media work and management of communication for complex major projects
- Ensuring quality, efficient approval processes, and use of digital tools
- Close cross-departmental collaboration and coordination, especially with the State Chancellery
What distinguishes you
- University or university of applied sciences degree (Uni/FH) and several years of professional experience in corporate communication or journalism
- Leadership experience or strong potential to manage a small team purposefully and with quality awareness
- High political sensitivity, strategic thinking, and ideally knowledge of political processes
- Structured working method, high process fidelity, and experience in project management
- Routine in handling digital work tools
