The position is attached to the gynaecology and obstetrics services of the Department of Women, Children and Adolescents.
The Department of Women, Children and Adolescents is committed to providing quality care tailored to the needs of women at every stage of their lives and to the health issues faced by newborns, children and adolescents from birth up to the age of 16.
For many years, the Department of Women, Children and Adolescents has continuously developed cutting-edge services and centres of expertise in several medical specialties.
The gynaecology service at the HUG is one of the largest in Switzerland.
The service includes numerous specialties, notably in oncology, perinology, and reproductive medicine . The service also provides specialised consultations concerning the ovary and female genital mutilation . It cares for women who are victims of assault and violence , or who request a gynaecological check-up , contraception services or a pregnancy termination .
Our breast centre and our endometriosis centre are accredited, offering the guarantee of multidisciplinary, comprehensive and quality care.
The medical and nursing teams follow women, girls and adolescents throughout their reproductive lives, during and after menopause , with maximum comfort and safety, respecting each individual’s privacy and values.
To ensure the best women’s health care, it relies on efficient emergency services , state-of-the-art equipment, an interdisciplinary care approach and direct access for hospitalisations.
In addition to monitoring and managing pregnancies until delivery, the obstetrics service is the regional reference centre for high-risk pregnancies and foeto-maternal medicine. The Maternity collaborates closely with the neonatology unit where around 500 newborns are hospitalised each year and where teams work in shifts 24/7 to provide close care and monitoring.
Job Description
Our gynaecology and obstetrics services are seeking several resident doctors eager to develop in a stimulating university environment, within a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to the training of junior doctors.
As part of the various rotations, you will work within the different units of the obstetrics service as well as in the gynaecological outpatient clinic and gynaecological-obstetrical emergency unit.
In your role, you ensure the quality of medical services in the care units within your area of expertise.
Your organisational skills and ability to work efficiently enable you to ensure the application of internal rules and procedures.
Qualifications
You hold a federal medical diploma or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Federal Commission of Medical Professions (MEBEKO).
You have two years’ experience in gynaecology and obstetrics services.
For non-French speakers, a certified C1 level in spoken and written French is required.
