The Diogenes Verlag is the largest independent fiction publisher in Europe and publishes literature, non-fiction, art, and children's books. We are offering a 3-year apprenticeship as a Commercial Employee EFZ Marketing and Communication starting August 1, 2026.
During the entire apprenticeship, you will go through all departments of our publishing house.
The tasks that await you:
- Sales
- Customer service: handling inquiries from end customers and bookstores
- Assisting in the support of major customers
- Events
- Co-designing and planning author readings
- Supporting the creation of travel plans for authors
- Editorial
- Assisting in the compilation of anthologies
- Supporting editors with research tasks
- Production
- Marking manuscripts, preparing them for typesetting
- Assisting in the design of children's books
- Advertising
- Co-managing social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)
- Content production
- Licenses
- Granting reproduction permissions
- Creating royalty statements and contracts
What you should bring:
- Completed Matura or aiming for vocational Matura at the start of the apprenticeship
- Flawless German skills and enthusiasm for foreign languages
- Confident and competent handling of literary texts
- Passion for books and reading
- Good and quick comprehension and independent working
