Head of Employment Law 80%With around 1,400 employees, the Department of Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is responsible for penal and measures enforcement as well as the implementation of various types of detention. Our employees from around 40 professions support and promote the reintegration of offenders and are committed effectively and progressively to a safe and just society.
The approximately 30 employees of the HR department design and are responsible for all tasks in the HR life cycle – from recruitment, advice, and development of JuWe employees to employment law and administrative services, as well as HR controlling and strategic personnel management. Due to a replacement, we are looking for a committed and experienced individual as Head of Employment Law from 1 September 2026.
Your area of responsibility
- You lead the Employment Law team, consisting of a legal staff member and an auditor, in terms of personnel, expertise, and organisation, and you specifically develop your team further
- You advise managers and your HR colleagues as a competent sparring partner on employment and social insurance law matters and represent JuWe in negotiations with lawyers and before appeal authorities
- You further develop guidelines, regulations, and governance topics and ensure legally sound and practical solutions
- You actively contribute your expertise to HR projects, working groups, and strategic developments and ensure professional knowledge management
- You design and conduct internal training on employment law issues
- As a member of the HR management team, you help shape the further development of the department and the implementation of the HR and JuWe strategy
Your profile
- You hold a Master’s degree in law; a lawyer’s licence is an advantage
- You have several years of professional experience in employment, labour, and/or administrative law and have an interest in and affinity for HR issues
- You work in a structured, solution-oriented manner with a touch of pragmatism and maintain an overview even in complex situations; quality is important to you
- You communicate clearly, appropriately for the audience, and navigate confidently between line management, HR, authorities, and various stakeholders
- You are curious, open to new things, enjoy working in a team, and like to laugh occasionally
