Your tasks
- You are responsible for the professional scientific processing, indexing, and permanent storage of the museum's botanical collections (vascular plants and mosses as well as lichens and fungi for historical reasons).
- You actively participate in general museum projects, such as guided tours, the conception and implementation of special exhibitions, or other educational formats.
- You lead a small team of four volunteers and external project staff and ensure structured task coordination with regular exchange on the progress of the work.
- As a professional contact person, you provide information, maintain contact with specialist colleagues, and represent your area of expertise internally and externally.
Your profile
- You have a completed university degree in botany or a comparable field.
- You bring solid taxonomic knowledge, ideally in at least one of the mentioned organism groups.
- You are familiar with museum collection, preservation, and organization techniques or have solid basic knowledge in this area.
- Confident handling of IT and database programs is among your skills, especially in a scientific work environment.
- You work team-oriented and independently, proceed in a structured and organized manner, bring empathy in collaboration, and ideally already have leadership experience.
