Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals and ranks among the best hospital institutions worldwide according to the Newsweek 2025 ranking. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in care, research, and training.
Within the Hospitality Service (Hospital Logistics Department – DLOH), the catering, cafeterias, kiosks, and snack bars sector offers a varied self-service selection to patients, collaborators, and visitors on the hospital campus and external sites. You will work in a dynamically organized team, with high standards of hygiene (HACCP), quality, and customer relations.
Mission
- You stock the buffets, ensure replenishment during service, and maintain attractive counters
- You welcome customers, respond to their requests, and take/transmit orders
- You serve dishes and drinks, ensure continuity of service, and take/transmit orders
- You prepare and present cold dishes (e.g., salads, sandwiches, simple desserts)
- You receive merchandise, check quality/quantity, store according to HACCP rules, and keep regular inventory
- You clear tables, change tablecloths, tidy the room, and clean/maintain the workstation, utensils, and equipment.
Profile
- You have completed compulsory schooling (French B1 minimum) and want to learn a service profession
- You have a sense of hospitality and teamwork; you are courteous and comfortable in contact
- You demonstrate speed of execution, rigor, order, and respect hygiene rules
- You have good stress resistance and flexible availability (irregular hours/weekends)
