The Paul Scherrer Institute PSI is the largest research institute for natural and engineering sciences in Switzerland. The Spallation Sources Operations group operates two globally unique neutron sources at PSI. In addition to maintenance and servicing, the continuous development and optimisation of these highly complex facilities are among the central tasks.For the Spallation Sources Operations group, we are looking for a
- Design, construction, and creation of CAD-based documentation (3DEXPERIENCE) for extensions, accessories, and fixtures related to the neutron sources SINQ and UCN
- Preparation of feasibility studies (e.g. FE analyses) for the development of new technical components and systems
- Conducting technical studies, evaluations, and development work
- Procurement of individual components as well as coordination of assembly and installation work
- Maintenance of the 3D models and assembly structures of the two neutron sources
- Completed technical school or university degree in mechanical engineering
- Several years of solid design experience with CAD systems (ideally CATIA)
- Independent, structured, and highly reliable working style as well as enthusiasm for challenging tasks
- Good communication and teamwork skills as well as the ability to think in a networked manner Very good German skills and good English skills in spoken and written form
