University Clinic for Adult Psychiatry and Psychotherapy

We offer psychiatric primary care and specialised treatment programmes for adults in the Bern area with the University Clinic for Adult Psychiatry and Psychotherapy. People are at the centre of what we do. As an occupational therapist, you accompany people with mental illnesses on their way back to a self-determined everyday life and make a significant contribution to promoting their quality of life, ability to act and independence. In doing so, you work in a committed, interprofessional team and actively shape the further development of occupational therapy. Additionally, there is the opportunity to prospectively help shape the area as a team leader and actively drive its further development. Your tasks
- You are responsible for the occupational therapy care of patients on the general acute psychiatric and psychotherapeutic wards as well as in the day clinic and outpatient areas
- You conduct individual and group therapies, carry out occupational therapy assessments, formulate therapy goals and plan and evaluate evidence-based interventions
- You support people with mental illnesses in coping with everyday life and strengthen their independence in practical matters
- You work interdisciplinarily and maintain regular exchange with nursing staff, medical service, therapists and other specialist areas
- You are involved in organisational, administrative and conceptual tasks - from ordering materials to the further development of occupational therapy
Your profile
- You have completed training in occupational therapy at a university of applied sciences or college or have an equivalent qualification recognised by the Swiss Red Cross
- Preferably, you already have experience in the psychiatric or social therapeutic environment
- Initial leadership experience or the willingness to take on responsibility and develop leadership skills is an advantage
- You are flexible, open and communicative and enjoy working in an interdisciplinary team
- You bring high social competence, independence and resilience
- You are enthusiastic about working with patients with various clinical pictures
- You take on the supervision of interns in the specialist area if interested
