Strategic Buyer Metals 80 – 100 % (m/f/d)

The Business Unit Operations produces parts for all Hamilton companies, from injection-moulded parts to pipette tips for liquid handling, to metal and plastic parts. Our goal is to produce as many parts in-house as possible. This keeps us agile, independent and efficient.

This is what you can achieve:

Responsible for the strategic orientation of the Metals commodity group in an industrial environment

Developing and implementing the commodity group strategy in line with the procurement and operations strategy

Participating in development projects and coordinating procurement activities within strategic purchasing

Responsible for professional, worldwide supplier management (evaluation, selection, assessment and development)

Conducting targeted procurement market research and monitoring, as well as identifying new trends

Creating and negotiating contracts, conducting price and terms negotiations

Ensuring material availability during development phases in close cooperation with operational buyers

Adhering to processes, governance and compliance

This is what you bring with you:

Completed commercial basic training or technical training with commercial further education

Completed further training in procurement or supply chain management

Several years of experience in strategic purchasing in an industrial environment

Experience with the Metals commodity group is an advantage

Reliable personality with entrepreneurial thinking

Independent, structured and conscientious working style

Initiative, negotiation skills and assertiveness

Open, communicative and integral team player

Fluent in German and English, spoken and written (level C1)
