Expert in Group Controlling 80 - 100%The Finance Administration organises the finances of the Canton of Zurich and provides an overall overview. It prepares the budget with financial plan and the accounts of the canton on behalf of the government council. It prepares financial decisions of the government council, ensures an efficient accounting system and provides corresponding services for the entire administration.
The newly composed Department of Financial Management Control as of 1 January 2027 develops the budget, the financial planning of the canton and prepares the financial reporting. It leads cross-directorate projects to further develop financial processes and systems and manages the LEA specialist unit (performance recording with cost indication) of the canton.
For the further development of group-wide controlling processes and systems, as well as their practical implementation, we are looking immediately or by arrangement for an experienced, team-oriented, service-minded and motivated scientific staff member 80%-100%.
Your tasks
- The varied activity includes the following tasks:
- Taking over process responsibility for the cantonal controlling processes for further development, especially harmonisation and automation, of financial planning processes
- Advising other administrative units in the design of controlling processes, taking over project management or participating in interdisciplinary project teams
- Close cooperation with the professional and technical SAP CO application managers in projects in the controlling area
- Participation in the preparation of the canton’s financial plan (Consolidated Development and Financial Plan) including support of the SAP applications
- Preparing various chapters of the annual report (e.g. "Finances at a Glance")
- Answering specific questions about the state budget based on evaluations, especially from SAP or Business Warehouse (BW)
- Preparing information for the Finance Director
- Preparing proposals to the government council concerning the canton’s financial planning
Your profile
- University or university of applied sciences degree at master’s level (business administration or economics) as well as several years of proven relevant professional experience in group controlling
- Solid know-how in the SAP and Business Warehouse environment, SAC an advantage
- Excellent analytical and conceptual skills, precise working method and strong editorial skills with which you can present complex issues in a simply understandable language
- Solution-oriented collaboration with other administrative units
- Open to change and new substantive challenges
- Knowledge of the HERMES project method is an advantage
