The Security Directorate employs around 5,000 employees. The General Secretariat with the passport office, business licenses, and certifications, as well as the appeals department, is the central staff unit. The Security Directorate includes the Zurich Cantonal Police, the Road Traffic Office, the Migration Office, the Office for Military and Civil Protection, the Cantonal Social Office, and the Sports Office.
As of October 1, 2025, or by agreement, we are looking for an experienced professional for finance and accounting in the General Secretariat for our small, dedicated finance team. In this versatile position, you will be responsible for accounting as well as controlling and its further development. The position is initially limited to 2 years, but with the option for a permanent position.

Your tasks
- You are responsible for budgeting, for forecasts for the financial statements or the business report, as well as the internal control system of our service group
- You ensure smooth accounts receivable and accounts payable management, involving the fiduciary center of the financial administration, and manage the cash processes
- You create user-friendly management information and decision-making bases and take care of the further development of controlling
- You are the contact person for questions regarding finance and accounting and work closely with the cost center managers and other departments in the canton
- You enjoy contributing to projects or committees and driving optimizations forward
Your profile
- Completed commercial training with a federal diploma in finance and accounting or comparable qualification
- Several years of professional experience in a comparable function, ideally in administration
- Very good SAP (FI/CO, SD, BW) and MS Office skills (including PowerBI)
- High service orientation as well as independent, structured, and precise working style
- Fluent German skills in spoken and written form
