Reporting to the Assistant Manager, the essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Consistently provide professional, friendly, and engaging service
- Replace the Assistant Manager or Manager during their absence
- Supervise (manage, train, motivate, recognize, and develop) the staff of the Montreux Jazz Café and Funky Claude’s Bar
- Ensure the integration and training of new employees
- Know and promote the concepts of the Montreux Jazz Café and Funky Claude’s Bar (History, Festival history, founder)
- Regularly propose improvements, innovations and actively participate in the dynamic development of Funky Claude’s Bar and Montreux Jazz Café
- Create a good working atmosphere and a safe working environment
- Ensure staff knowledge of standards, hotel and regional events
- Perfectly know the menu of Montreux Jazz Café, Funky Claude’s Bar and promotions
- Ensure follow-up of Funky Claude’s Bar programming and related follow-up
- Collect stock taken out the previous day from the cellar each morning, check the delivery note and sign it
- Participate in service and ensure its smooth running
- Take reservations
- Make wine and food pairings and suggest to customers
- Participate in renewing the menus of Montreux Jazz Café and Funky Claude’s Bar
- Maintain outlet productivity
- Assist in stock and beverage and food cost control
- Participate in establishing the restaurant turnover and implementing actions to exceed it
- Participate in daily cash and restaurant closures
- Establish schedules and forecasts
- Assist in recruitment, training, and evaluation of staff
- Participate in hotel F&B training
- Organize daily and monthly meetings
- Handle administrative requests
- Verify perfect presentation of staff
- Know how Silverware works
- Know and apply LQA technical and emotional standards
- Establish action plans with the Assistant Manager and Manager following Opinion Survey, LQA (Leading Quality Assurance), VOG (Voice Of Guest) results and ensure follow-up and results
- Respect policies, procedures, and service standards related to points of sale
- Respect all hygiene and safety policies when handling food and beverages
- Maintain a professional attitude, be smiling and keep calm at all times
- Be flexible and cooperative in all circumstances, especially when required to collaborate with another department occasionally
- Respect ergonomic work standards in health and safety rules
- All other tasks as assigned
- 1 year experience in a supervisory position
- 3 years experience in catering
- Experience in 4* or 5* hotel, an asset
- Recognized service diploma
- Fluency in French and English
- Knowledge of a third language an asset
- Ability to lead a team
- Ability to create split schedules
- Proficiency with Silverware tool
- Knowledge in oenology
- Passion for mixology
- Creative, innovative and up to date with new trends to offer bold and trendy cocktails
- Outgoing, cheerful, sociable, helpful and available
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Recognized ability in staff management (recognition, discipline, coaching)

VISA REQUIREMENTS
To work in Switzerland, the candidate must hold a Swiss work permit or be from an EU-17 or EU-8 European country.
