The opportunity
Join our Semiconductor Packaging and Reliability Engineering team at the Hitachi Energy Research Center in Baden-Dättwil. You will contribute to the reliability of HVDC systems, a key technology for sustainable energy transmission. In a collaborative and inclusive environment, you’ll work closely with experienced researchers and gain deep insights into real-world reliability challenges. This 6 - 12 months internship offers you the chance to grow technically and personally while shaping the energy systems of tomorrow.
How you’ll make an impact

Assist in researching and developing the reliability profile of HVDC station on the component level

Assist in developing and applying novel statistical and mathematical models for reliability analysis

Developing and implementing stochastic reliability models for components in HVDC stations

Document and communicate solutions developed to ensure knowledge transfer within the research team and stakeholders
Your background
-
Currently pursuing a M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering, power engineering, physics, applied mathemat-ics, mechanical engineering or a related discipline (official enrolment is essential)

Programing skills, ideally in Python, for software development, data analysis, and machine learning

Understanding fundamental concepts in statistics and probability

Familiarity with reliability engineering

Fluency in written and spoken English

Strong communication and collaboration skills, think creatively, and enjoy working independently
