The public prosecutor's office is the independent investigative and prosecuting authority of the canton of St. Gallen. The Altstätten investigation office is responsible for crimes committed in the Rheintal and Werdenberg regions. We are responsible for the uniform enforcement of the state's criminal claims and conduct criminal proceedings for crimes, offenses, and violations ranging from property and traffic offenses to drug and violent crimes.
