Head of Civil Engineering Department

To ensure Oberägeri remains a pleasant, attractive, and well-connected place to live in the future, we are seeking a strong leadership personality to head our Civil Engineering Department from 1 October 2026 or by agreement.

You will lead people, manage demanding infrastructure projects, and actively shape the development of our community. In doing so, you will take responsibility for a committed team and ensure that our roads, waterways, utilities, and public facilities continue to function reliably tomorrow.

Responsibilities

🚀 You lead with impact

• Personnel and professional leadership of the Civil Engineering Department
• Direct leadership of the Depot Manager and Water Supply Manager
• Promotion, development, and support of your employees
• Ensuring a positive, solution-oriented team culture

🏗️ You shape the future of Oberägeri

• Planning, managing, and implementing civil engineering projects
• Responsibility for roads, water and wastewater systems, waterways, and public lighting
• Further development and implementation of the General Drainage Plan (GEP)
• Co-creating a sustainable and modern infrastructure

📊 You take responsibility

• Budget, cost, and schedule responsibility for roads, wastewater, and waterways
• Ensuring quality, economic efficiency, and sustainable use of resources
• Preparation of decision-making bases for the municipal council, specialist committees, and municipal assembly

🤝 You connect people and interests

• Collaboration with authorities, engineering offices, cantonal agencies, and specialist partners
• Leading negotiations with landowners and project participants
• Contact person for technical questions related to civil engineering

Expectations

What you bring

✔️ Degree as a civil engineer FH/ETH specialising in civil engineering or comparable qualification

✔️ Several years of professional and leadership experience in civil engineering

✔️ Enjoyment in leading, promoting, and achieving goals together with people

✔️ Entrepreneurial thinking and a confident sense of political and public processes

✔️ Negotiation skills, strong communication, and assertiveness

✔️ Independent, structured, and solution-oriented working style

✔️ Very good German language skills, both spoken and written

✔️ Enjoyment in taking responsibility and driving things forward
