About the job

Class and annual salary (including 13th month salary):

Tasks:

• carry out routine maintenance work along the cantonal road network under the responsibility of the Locarno Maintenance Centre (CMLoc) and, if necessary, provide service in other sectors of the Operation and Maintenance Area (AEM)
• monitor third-party services within the scope of routine road maintenance work
• report hazardous situations, taking necessary measures in compliance with service procedures and directives
• intervene in case of special events (accidents, floods, landslides, avalanches, etc.), informing superiors and correctly applying the work processes defined by CMLoc
• provide on-call service (summer and winter) according to seasonal planning and perform shift work outside normal hours, on public holidays and at night, as required
• carry out activities in compliance with received instructions, current safety regulations, and within the timeframes and methods established by service directives and procedures
• drive heavy vehicles category C/CE, industrial sweepers and special vehicles

Requirements:

• Federal Certificate of Competence (AFC) in a technical or craft profession (construction, civil engineering, forestry, metal construction, mechanic, gardener, etc.) or previous practical experience in these same professional fields (according to orientation.ch sheet "Road Maintenance Worker")
• proven work experience on road maintenance sites with traffic; particular attention will be paid to the candidate's knowledge of site signage, accident prevention and personal safety
• driving licence category C, CE with CQC certificate
• excellent knowledge of the territory where the main activity of CMLoc is carried out, particularly the Locarno area
• initiative and interest in work, adaptability and willingness to work at high, irregular and out-of-hours rhythms
• good physical condition and aptitude for teamwork

• working hours: 42 hours per week (for a 100% employment relationship), flexible or according to service needs
