This internship is part of an academic training program, a professional training program, or a socio-professional integration program, and must comply with the conditions set by the Employment Market Supervisory Council (CSME). The duration of the internship, as defined by the tripartite agreement, is 6 to 9 months at 100%

Context & mission
Médecins Sans Frontières is an independent, international medical and humanitarian organization that provides care to people in need, people affected by natural or man-made disasters, and victims of armed conflict, without discrimination and without regard to race, religion, creed or political affiliation (MSF Charter).
As a humanitarian representation and advocacy intern, you will support the MSF representative in Switzerland in her interactions with the Swiss authorities and Swiss civil society in German-speaking Switzerland, with the aim of creating a favorable environment for MSF's medical and humanitarian activities for people in need and raising awareness of the needs of neglected people and communities.
Tasks and responsibilities

Actively follow political and social debates on issues relevant to humanitarian aid (issue management).

Write brief summaries of current developments and possible approaches to influence them.

Contribute to the preparation of proposal and reporting documents for institutional funds.

Take minutes of meetings and organise visits of officials.

Prepare presentations and contribute to stakeholder mapping and engagement efforts.

Assist the MSF Representative in her tasks.
Your profile

Have a tripartite internship agreement

Excellent language skills in French or German and working level of the other language.

Fluent in English.

Initial humanitarian or advocacy experience is an advantage.

Analytical capacities.

Ability to write and edit well-structured briefing notes and concept papers.

Ability to work in a multicultural environment successfully and to demonstrate commitment and support for diversity, gender-responsive, inclusive, and non-discriminatory behaviour and attitudes.

Strong interest into humanitarian topics and into political dynamics and processes.

Dynamic working style with sensitivity to complex and sensitive issues and high professional reliability.
