Team Leader AI Service Platform 80 - 100%The Office for Informatics (AFI) is the IT competence centre of the Canton of Zurich.
It provides comprehensive services in the area of central IT infrastructure and canton-wide
applications for directorates, authorities, the judiciary, and independent institutions.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) offers great potential to effectively support the administration and to deliver its services to the population and businesses efficiently, securely, and appropriately. At the same time, clear frameworks, reliability, and a responsible approach to data, security, and ethical issues are required. In the Canton of Zurich, we therefore promote the safe, responsible, and value-adding use of AI. A central component is the AI Service Platform, on which, among other things, the AI basic services are operated.
Are you ready to harness the potential of AI in the Canton of Zurich and thus drive forward the digital transformation of the Canton of Zurich? For this, we are looking for a leader who will shape the development and further advancement of the AI Service Platform and the associated AI solutions.
Your tasks:
- You take on the professional and personnel leadership of the AI Services team and specifically develop its competencies, collaboration, and performance.
- You are responsible for the overall orientation of the AI Service Platform and ensure that the services offered are aligned with the strategic goals and needs of the canton.
- Together with the relevant partners, you help design the operating model for the AI Service Platform with clear roles, responsibilities, decision-making paths, and processes.
- You are responsible for creating binding standards for architecture, security, operation, and quality and for their consistent implementation.
- In cantonal committees, you represent and position the service organisation as a reliable partner for directorates and offices.
What you bring:
- University degree in computer science or a comparable master-level qualification
- Several years of leadership experience in complex technical, organisational, or politically sensitive environments.
- You understand the essential opportunities, risks, and operational requirements of modern AI technologies and can professionally assess technical decisions.
- Experience in AI governance, architecture, service management, or platform responsibility is a plus
- You make well-founded decisions with impact and keep an overview even in demanding situations
- You communicate clearly, authoritatively, and convincingly in German and English
- You act independently, think strategically, proactively develop solutions, and implement them in a goal-oriented manner.
