About the job
Specialist in Public Statistics 80 - 100%In the canton of Zurich, public statistics are organised in a decentralised manner. The Office for Statistics and Data promotes professional exchange and coordinates collaboration within the cantonal administration as well as with the federal government and municipalities. Additionally, we support and advise other administrative units in the production, publication, and communication of statistical information as a basis for sound decisions and to strengthen data literacy.

From October 2026 or by agreement, we are looking for a
Specialist in Public Statistics
Your tasks
- You facilitate exchange with our various stakeholders and target groups and understand their requirements and needs.
- You support and advise the specialists in the office and the cantonal administration to ensure that statistical information is prepared transparently, communicated clearly, and published in a coordinated manner.
- You participate in the establishment of the Statistics Committee and take on its coordination (see RRB No. 331/2026).
- You bear the substantive responsibility for the statistics portal "Zürcher Gemeinden in Zahlen" (Zurich Municipalities in Figures).
- You contribute to projects for the development of new statistical products.

- You are service-oriented and enjoy collaboration and advising.
- You are an organisational talent, work in a structured way, and bring experience in managing committees and processes.
- You have solid knowledge of public statistics, data management, and an interest in technical products such as dashboards.
- You hold a university degree and have several years of relevant professional experience.
- You have excellent German language skills, both spoken and written, and proven experience in communication.
