At BHMS Business & Hotel Management School, we train around 1,000 students each year from more than 65 countries. Our study programmes include Higher Diplomas as well as Bachelor, Master, and MBA degrees in Hospitality Management, Global Business Management, and Culinary Arts.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for a committed, internationally oriented individual to strategically develop our global student recruitment activities.
Position Overview The Consultant for International Education Recruitment reports to the marketing or school management of BHMS or to the board of the Benedict schools. They are responsible for opening up new recruitment opportunities and achieving ambitious enrolment targets in an assigned international market – mainly in Asia or other designated regions.
This position combines consultative sales with intensive relationship management. It is suitable for a proactive person who enjoys building partnerships, advising prospective students, and representing BHMS internationally.
The successful candidate will spend up to 100 working days per year travelling within the assigned territory. This includes visits to educational partners, schools, and agencies, as well as attending fairs and holding personal meetings with prospective students.
During the remaining time, the person works at our campuses in Zurich and Lucerne. There they handle enquiries, develop prospects into applicants, analyse market opportunities, plan future recruitment activities, and work closely with the marketing, admissions, academic organisation, and student support teams. Furthermore, they accompany the students they recruit and contribute to their wellbeing.
Your Main Responsibilities
- You achieve or exceed the annual student recruitment and revenue targets in the assigned territory.
- You develop regional recruitment plans, implement them, and align them with the institution's growth objectives.
- You identify educational agencies, schools, universities, and other strategic partners, build and maintain these relationships long-term.
- Through proactive acquisition and targeted relationship building, you open up new business opportunities.
- You manage a sales pipeline with a typical recruitment cycle of three to six months.
- You guide prospective students through the entire admissions process – from the initial enquiry through application and admission letter (Letter of Acceptance, LOA) to enrolment.
- You deliver professional presentations, seminars, and information events for prospective students, parents, schools, and recruitment partners.
- You represent BHMS at international education fairs, exhibitions, and information events.
- You document all activities carefully and promptly in BHMS's CRM system.
- You prepare sales reports, market analyses, and recruitment forecasts.
- You monitor market developments, competitor activities, and industry trends in the respective region.
- You work closely with marketing, admissions, academic organisation, and student support to provide applicants with an excellent experience.
- You contribute your own ideas and initiatives to increase recruitment effectiveness and expand our market presence.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least five years of professional experience in international education recruitment, educational sales, or business development in the hospitality industry.
- Proven success in consistently achieving or exceeding recruitment and sales targets.
- Demonstrated ability to open new markets and build long-term business relationships.
- Experience managing multiple recruitment processes simultaneously within a consultative sales cycle.
- Excellent interpersonal skills as well as negotiation and presentation strengths.
- Outstanding organisational and time management skills and a high degree of self-motivation.
- Ability to work independently while effectively contributing to an international team.
- Confident use of CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Willingness to travel internationally up to 100 working days per year.
- Experience in higher education or international student recruitment is a significant advantage.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communication, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
