Nurses in Cardiology / Cardiac Surgery
The Heart-Vessels Department is looking for several nurses on fixed-term contracts, with an activity rate between 80% and 100%, to start work in the cardiology and/or cardiac surgery units from 1 July 2026 or a date to be agreed.
Context
The University Hospital Centre of Vaud (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The Heart-Vessels Department (DCV) brings together the angiological, cardiological, cardiac surgery, and vascular surgery services of CHUV. All actors work together to offer personalised care to patients suffering from heart and vessel diseases.
Mission
- You are responsible, within the scope of your own role, for identifying, planning, executing, and evaluating nursing care in the preventive, curative, palliative, and educational fields for the patients under your care, respecting professional standards and the rules in force within the institution
- You are responsible for performing delegated medical acts and, in this context, you may delegate acts dependent on your own role and ensure responsibility for them
- You actively participate in welcoming patients and their relatives, as well as in organising work and ensuring the smooth running and continuity of the unit's activities (for example during evening or night shifts)
- You participate in the supervision and evaluation of students and trainees and in the integration of new staff
- You contribute to an interdisciplinary approach to care and teamwork.
Profile
- You hold a HES nursing diploma (or an equivalent qualification, as well as recognition from the Red Cross for staff qualified abroad, which is imperative)
- You have good interpersonal skills, a sense of contact, and a good team spirit
- You possess analytical and synthetic skills, a sense of responsibility, and good adaptability
- You have a sense of organisation
- You master common IT tools
- You master spoken and written French (minimum B2 level).
