Department: School of Engineering
Start date: From August or by arrangement. The position is limited to one year, with an extension intended.
We are seeking a dedicated employee to support our team in teaching and research. As a research assistant, you will work in an interdisciplinary environment, contribute to the development of future-oriented technologies and methods in aviation, and pass this knowledge on to the next generation.
Teaching
- Support in imparting knowledge through practical exercises and laboratory practicals in the areas of aerodynamics, aircraft design, aircraft systems, and flight propulsion
- Participation in the creation of teaching materials and organisation of courses
- Supervision and support of student projects and theses
Research & Development
- Participation in projects on aerodynamics, aircraft design, and innovative propulsion systems, especially with regard to sustainability and energy efficiency
- Support in the development and execution of innovative experiments in the wind tunnel and with state-of-the-art measurement systems
- Development and optimisation of simulation tools for aerodynamic and structural analyses
Project Management and Collaboration
- Collaboration in projects with industry partners and research institutions
- Support in acquiring third-party funding for research projects
- Participation in conferences and presentation of project results
You distinguish yourself by the following qualities:
- Expertise: You have completed an engineering degree, preferably in the field of aviation. The position is particularly aimed at graduates at the beginning of their professional career (e.g. after a Bachelor’s or a subsequent Master’s degree). Initial practical experience is an advantage.
- Independence: You work independently and always keep an overview of your tasks and goals.
- Motivation and enthusiasm: You bring energy and passion to your work and enjoy imparting knowledge and contributing to a dynamic academic environment.
- Reliability: You always act reliably and responsibly, both in your daily work and in dealing with colleagues and students.
- Communication skills: You value exchange with others, are communicative, and know how to convey clearly and kindly – whether in the team or with students.
