About the job
Legal Representative at the Legal Protection of the Ticino Region and Central Switzerland
- Independent management of individual mandates from a procedural and administrative perspective, particularly within the Dublin procedure:
- legal representation in first-instance procedures and communication of authority decisions, especially at the Federal Asylum Center in Glaubenberg (OW); legal representation in appeal procedures before the Federal Administrative Court (FAC).
- Close collaboration with advisors and colleagues of the SOS Ticino legal representation team.
- Monitoring practices, case law, and doctrine in relevant areas of law, especially asylum and migration law.
- Continuous information to asylum seekers about the asylum procedure, their rights and duties, roles, and possible outcomes
- Degree in law (Master of Law; lic. iur. or equivalent foreign diploma)
- Excellent written and spoken knowledge of German or Italian and good knowledge of the other language; additional language skills are an advantage.
- Experience in advising asylum seekers and knowledge or experience in the field of asylum and migration in Switzerland.
- Interest in and understanding of people from different cultures and social realities in the context of migration
- High social competence, resilience, and flexibility
- Ability to manage conflicts and boundaries
- Category B driving license is mandatory (consultations practically only in Glaubenberg)
The workplace is Lucerne, with frequent trips to Glaubenberg.
Start date: immediately or by agreement.
The contract is fixed-term until April 30, 2027.
