About the job
Your new role
Together with your superior, the city council, the Planning and Construction Directorate, and your dedicated teams, you will passionately and expertly shape the high construction culture for a vibrant urban space with a high quality of life.
You are responsible for the strategic and operational management as well as the forward-looking development of the Civil Engineering Office in the context of politics and public administration. You lead demanding projects with technical, financial, and political significance, consider the diverse requirements of public spaces, and rely on contemporary, sustainable, and ecological design. In exchange with external stakeholders and internal administrative offices, you coordinate the development of public road and traffic infrastructure. In all your activities, you develop and connect people, processes, and technologies in a balanced way and keep the big picture in mind. Your activities focus on customer and employee satisfaction, economic efficiency, safety, and sustainability.
This position is for you if
- You have a university degree in civil engineering or spatial development and infrastructure systems, complemented by business management training.
- You have several years of leadership, specialist, and project experience in infrastructure management with revenue and results responsibility.
- You lead clearly and decisively, provide orientation, set accents and impulses for change, and promote a appreciative and participative culture.
- You are a confident personality with a clear stance, respectful demeanour, convincing communication, as well as negotiation and decision-making strength.
- You foster dialogue with various stakeholders and bring new technologies and trends with initiative, creativity, and a sense for politics, administration, and business.
