Our Vision
Our efforts for sustainable development are based on the NKB sustainability vision:
"We think and act today for our future. Our sustainable actions meet the needs and expectations of our customers, our employees, society, and the environment. We handle natural resources with care and commit to reducing greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2050."
The vision serves as a long-term guide and refers to the Brundtland definition of sustainability (1987). It takes into account our four strategic fields of action: customers, employees, society (corporate responsibility field), and environment. You can learn more about the individual fields of action below. Our sustainability vision deliberately addresses the unfortunately severely challenged environmental dimension comprehensively. Our own operations should use natural resources as sparingly as possible. Thus, we take responsibility for our environment in the canton and beyond. In addition, we make a promise: by 2050, we want to emit net zero greenhouse gases (Scope 1-3). Even today, we are laying the foundation and taking measures to achieve this ambitious and extremely important goal.
