About the job
Head of Project & Quality Management 80 - 100%The Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is part of the Directorate of Justice and the Interior of the Canton of Zurich and is responsible for penal and measure enforcement as well as the implementation of various types of detention. For our 1,400 employees from around 40 professions, the successful social reintegration of offenders, the prevention of recidivism, and the detention and preparation of the departure of persons without a valid residence permit are of particular importance.
The main department Correctional Facilities Zurich (VEZ) – one of seven main departments of JuWe – comprises four facilities with different types of detention. In total, over 300 detainees are cared for. The directorate supports the institutions with its specialist services in fulfilling their legal mandate.
For the management of project and quality management in the VEZ staff, we are looking for a committed and motivated person.
This is your field of activity
- Leading and controlling projects as well as ensuring reporting, controlling, and effective project portfolio management
- Professional and methodological advice and support for project managers of VEZ and coordination of project management and resource issues
- Establishing, maintaining, and continuously developing quality management including process management, quality documentation, as well as leading process workshops and quality circles
- Leading and coordinating organisational, development, and research projects in the VEZ and raising awareness of security-relevant topics
- Active collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, participation in specialist committees, and taking on further tasks according to operational requirements
What you bring with you
- You have successfully completed your master’s degree, e.g. in a social science discipline, and preferably have further training in project management (HERMES)
- You are proficient with common MS Office programmes and have experience with database systems, statistical software, and business administration software
- You bring professional experience in public administration, ideally in correctional services, as well as sound knowledge in quality management and project leadership
- Analytical and strategic thinking, a structured working style, resilience, and a confident manner are among your strengths
- Initial leadership experience is an advantage, as the role includes the personnel and professional leadership of a person in internship
