Assistant Physician Internal Medicine

For the Department of Internal Medicine at the Cantonal Hospital, we are looking for an assistant physician from the end of 2028 / beginning of 2029. We are a Category A training hospital for General Internal Medicine. Annually, 3,500 inpatients are cared for on the general internal medicine wards, as well as the same number of outpatient emergencies in the interdisciplinary emergency department. The medical team comprises 13 senior consultants, 5 senior physicians and 21 assistant physicians. Our professional focuses are General Internal Medicine, Acute Geriatrics, Cardiology, Oncology, Neurology, Nephrology, Gastroenterology, Angiology, Pneumology, Haematology, Endocrinology, Dermatology (consultative) and Emergency Medicine. Deployment areas for our assistant physicians include the general internal medicine wards, acute geriatrics, the emergency department, cardiopulmonary function diagnostics, as well as the intensive care unit and dialysis unit.

What to expect

• Rotation on the wards of the Department of Internal Medicine
• Deployment in acute geriatrics
• Deployment in the interdisciplinary emergency department
• Rotation in cardiopulmonary diagnostics
• Deployment in the interdisciplinary intensive care unit (subject to suitability and desire)
• Deployment in dialysis

What you bring to us

• Very good German language skills, spoken and written (minimum requirement level C1)
• Professional and social competence in dealing with patients and relatives
• Commitment and enthusiasm for a clinically interdisciplinary oriented activity
• Sense of responsibility, initiative, teamwork, resilience and independence
• Swiss medical diploma or equivalent MEBEKO recognition
