Head of Protection + Operations Section

Would you like to take on a central role in the office and the Water Protection Department? In this versatile role, you will assume a key position within the office in the prevention and management of crisis situations. You will also be responsible for the cross-departmental water protection on-call service and lead the operational IT as well as the administrative areas of the department. Look forward to exciting and varied challenges as well as the opportunity to make a significant contribution to ensuring that the canton is well prepared for crisis situations and can act quickly and effectively in the event of water pollution.

Your tasks

• Ensuring civil protection tasks in the area of technical operations for the Canton of Zurich
• Ensuring the 24/7 water protection on-call service for the canton
• Ensuring IT services for the Water Protection Department
• Ensuring administrative services for the department and managing the secretariat
• Key contact for the office management in the event of an incident or pandemic

Your profile

• Completed studies as an engineer or natural scientist
• Several years of experience in team leadership
• Enjoyment of conceptual thinking and precise working methods
• Awareness of the needs of a public administration
• Experience in leading or training emergency services is an advantage
