About the job
The Office for Disability Issues and Social Institutions is part of the Social Affairs Department within the Department of Economic Affairs and the Interior. It is responsible for the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the Glarus Self-Determination and Participation Act.
We are looking to strengthen the team with a
Specialist in Disability Issues and Social Institutions 40–50 %
starting immediately or by arrangement, based in Glarus.
Responsibilities
- Management of the IVSE liaison office of the Canton of Glarus
- Review and processing of cost coverage applications
- Verification of needs assessments
- Quality assurance of Glarus disability institutions as well as children’s and youth homes (supervision and approval)
- Participation in the implementation of the Self-Determination and Participation Act
Requirements
- Completed training in social pedagogy, social work, or a comparable field
- Extensive professional experience in residential disability care
- Good administrative skills and organisational talent
- Networked and analytical thinking as well as structured and solution-oriented action
- Resilient personality with high social competence
