Social Educator or Care Specialist
60% The igs Bern offers people with severe cognitive and mental impairments a home. In the four residential groups at different locations, five residents live in each group. They are supported around the clock, 365 days a year. The daily structure is adapted to their individual needs and possibilities. It is important to us to implement the principle of normalization and to promote self-determination and autonomy among the residents, enabling them to achieve the highest possible quality of life.
For our residential group in Fraubrunnen BE, we are looking for a
Social Educator or a Care Specialist EFZ (60% - 80%) starting from October 1, 2025, or by agreement
Preferably with completed further training in practical education
Your tasks:
- You accompany the residents in their daily lives, support them in their self-determination, and open up new learning and activity fields for them.
- You plan and realize activities within and outside the residential group.
- You support the residents with personal care.
- You jointly take on everyday household tasks (cooking, shopping, cleaning) with the residents.
Your profile:
- Completed training in the social education field or as a care specialist
- Completed further training in practical education or the willingness to complete it
- Experience in care
- Willingness to take on the practical supervision of students (Social Education and Social Work)
- Willingness to take on case management and departmental responsibility
- Willingness to provide on-call and weekend services
- Enjoyment of teamwork and willingness for personal and professional development
- Commitment and reliability
